Providing year-round play for students at one of UK's top schools tennis academies. The dome maximises court time and ensures a consistent playing environment, helping to improve the players and the game within Scotland.
This project involved developing three professionally-sized tennis courts for the school’s students to improve their performances and also facilitate training for other sports during inclement weather conditions. The courts were specified with a specialised court material (the same playing surface used in the Australian Open) which will further enhance the proficiency of the students’ future career within the sport.
The project was delivered on time and within budget, with assistance of funding by the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) and the school. An air dome is a great cost-effective option and has been a real success with the students and throughout the school alumni. It has further underlined Merchiston's ambitions in sport and demonstrates their commitment to extra-curricular activities.
