Ellesmere College, a distinguished independent co-educational boarding school in Shropshire, has a long-standing reputation for academic and sporting excellence. Committed to providing world-class facilities that support a broad range of extracurricular activities, the College sought to develop a premier tennis facility for its academy.
We designed and constructed this state-of-the-art Tennis Centre which has been recognised with an Award for Excellence from the Sport and Play Construction Association (SAPCA), underscoring its outstanding quality and design.
The facility features four full-size acrylic courts, complementing the College’s six all-weather courts and nine artificial grass courts. Designed as a low-maintenance, fixed covered structure, the Tennis Centre offers Ellesmere the flexibility of open sides, allowing players to experience the benefits of outdoor play while maintaining a consistent playing surface and protection from the elements.
While primarily serving students, the facility is also accessible to the local community, other schools, and tennis clubs for training sessions and weekend tournaments, reinforcing the College’s commitment to fostering wider sporting engagement.
