With a heritage dating back to 1876, Belfast Boat Club (BBC) has long stood as a cornerstone of sporting excellence in Northern Ireland. Recognising the opportunity to enhance its member offering, the club approached Rocklyn in early 2023 to explore the integration of padel into its range of high-quality sporting facilities.
Following in-depth discussions, BBC decided to redevelop its existing Court 1, creating a dedicated padel hub comprising three high-specification courts - two of which are covered to extend playing capacity year-round. The transformation involved removing the existing surface, installing upgraded drainage systems, spot piling, and new tarmac surfacing. This approach enabled the deployment of our innovative self-supporting Club10 courts, eliminating the need for a traditional concrete ring beam and delivering a practical, cost-efficient solution.
Key features of the new courts include:
Since launching, the courts have quickly reached full occupancy, a testament to the growing demand for padel and Rocklyn's quality, efficiency, and design expertise.
From initial consultation to installation, our collaborative approach, technical insight, and commitment to excellence ensured a seamless transformation and a facility that sets new standards in performance and presentation.
